The Sartorialist
In 2005, Scott Schuman, the man behind The Sartorialist, started this thread at Ask Andy About Clothes.
The Next Great Men’s Magazine Will be a Website.
Reading the reviews on Men’s Vogue almost everyone is curious if they can keep up the high standard they have set. Unfortunately the classic styles most of us covet change very little season to season making it tough to keep a magazine fresh and growing.
Someday an enterprising young soul will see the internets ability to cater to very specific small groups and create a website for the Sartorially interested. The real advantage is the ability to archive articles. Most of what we like in menswear could be read now or a year from now and still be relevant. The photo spread on Barbourish tweeds in Men’s Vogue is a perfect example. Visually, websites are as interesting if not more exciting than printed magazines. Lets not even get into the cost savings in printing charges alone.
Someday.
The members at Ask Andy must have found the thread incredibly boring, because nobody replied.
