Finealta

Though tailored-down cargo pants are a bit trendy, and have nothing to do with classic menswear, I’ll readily admit that I like them. Blame it on looking at too many Cucinelli lookbooks, Pitti Uomo street shots, and Japanese menswear blogs. The best models I’ve seen have been made by Cucinelli, Ascot Chang, and Epaulet. In searching for other brands, however, I came across Finealta, a Korean manufacturer of slim cotton trousers.

Finealta’s pants come with darts and a split curtain waistband, both of which contribute to a better fit, as well as a belt prong loop, which help keep the front of your trousers up. The cargo pockets have buttons underneath the flaps and they sit flush against the side of the leg. They also make a line of simple chinos, for those who want something more classic.

Prices aren’t too bad - about $160 a pair. Whether they’ll ship to the US is another issue, but I’ve found most foreign brands are willing to, assuming you can patiently communicate with them over email. The trousers look slightly too slim for my taste. However, if I were ten years younger, or perhaps a bit bolder, these seem like a good option.
