Can you give a bit more detail about why you think the Alden Cape Cods suck?
I don’t care for Aldens in general. They work well for a workwear/ heritage aesthetic (I mean that respectfully, actually). For me, however, every Alden I’ve ever tried on seemed too bulky for what I normally wear. The Cape Cods were the same. They felt bulky, too rounded, and the roll near the strap was way too aggressive. All in all just too trad for me. I prefer English or Italian shoes. The Carminas from Spain also look nice, but I’ve never tried those on.
